These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MyExamMate ("MyExamMate", "we", "us", or "our"), including the website at https://myexammate.org and related features and services. By accessing or using MyExamMate, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the service.
1. About MyExamMate
MyExamMate is an educational technology platform designed to support students, educators, administrators, and educational communities. Depending on the institution and features available, MyExamMate may provide:
- Master and personalized examination timetables
- Academic resources, past examination papers, and lecture materials
- Tutorials and peer-learning coordination
- WhatsApp group information and course community links
- Study planning, notifications, reminders, and AI-assisted study tools (MEM-AI)
- Donation and merchandise functionality where available
2. Eligibility
You may use MyExamMate only if you are legally capable of entering into these Terms and your use is permitted by applicable law. MyExamMate is intended primarily for university students and educational communities. If you are under the legal age to agree to these Terms independently, you must use MyExamMate only with the involvement or permission of a parent, guardian, school, or legally authorized adult.
3. Accounts & Security
Some MyExamMate features require an account. You are responsible for providing accurate information, maintaining the confidentiality of your password, protecting device access, and preventing unauthorized credential sharing. You are responsible for all activity occurring under your account unless such activity results from security incidents beyond your reasonable control and you promptly notified us. We reserve the right to suspend or deactivate accounts that violate these Terms or threaten platform security.
4. Google Sign-In
MyExamMate allows authentication via Google Sign-In. When using Google Sign-In, Google handles authentication, and MyExamMate receives profile information permitted by requested OAuth scopes. MyExamMate does not store raw Google access or refresh tokens. Use of Google services is subject to Google's applicable policies.
5. Educational Information & Verification Disclaimer
Academic Verification Obligation
We make reasonable efforts to supply accurate information, but timetables and resources originate from students, educators, institutions, automated extractions, or AI engines. You must independently verify examination dates, venues, course details, and institutional rules against official communications from your institution. MyExamMate is not responsible for academic consequences arising from reliance on unverified or inaccurate timetables.
6. User-Submitted Content
Users may submit materials such as past papers, lecture notes, resource links, group links, and tutorial details. You represent that you possess the necessary rights and authorizations to submit such content. You must not knowingly submit:
- Content infringing third-party intellectual property or privacy rights
- Malware, malicious code, or fraudulent/deceptive information
- Confidential or unauthorized institutional records
- Content designed to harass, threaten, or harm others
7. Content Moderation and Removal
MyExamMate reserves the right to review, restrict, disable, or remove user content that violates these Terms, breaches applicable law, creates security or privacy risks, infringes intellectual property, or impairs platform integrity.
8. Past Papers and Intellectual Property Claims
Providing access to past papers or educational resources does not imply ownership of underlying intellectual property by MyExamMate. 9. Tutorials and Peer Learning
MyExamMate facilitates tutorial and peer-learning connections. We do not guarantee tutor qualifications, accuracy of session instructions, attendance, or the safety of in-person meeting venues. Users should exercise caution and judgment when arranging physical or virtual sessions.
10. WhatsApp Groups
MyExamMate provides directory links to independent WhatsApp course groups. MyExamMate does not operate WhatsApp and is not responsible for group availability, administrator actions, chat privacy, or messages posted within third-party messaging apps.
11. MEM-AI and Artificial Intelligence
MyExamMate incorporates AI functionality via MEM-AI (powered by Google Gemini) for study planning, timetable parsing, and document processing.
AI Disclaimer
AI-generated outputs may contain inaccuracies or incomplete conclusions. Users must independently verify critical examination dates, academic requirements, and institutional rules. AI features must not be treated as professional or legal advice.
12. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:
- Attempting unauthorized access to accounts, administrative systems, or server infrastructure
- Circumventing security, rate limits, or authentication mechanisms
- Scraping or abusing public APIs in a manner that disrupts platform operations
- Impersonating individuals or organizations or harvesting user personal data
- Distributing malware, spam, or unauthorized commercial solicitations
13. Intellectual Property Rights
Except for user-submitted content and institutional materials, MyExamMate, its software code, UI design, branding, and platform features are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership rights to MyExamMate's software or trademarks.
14. User Content License
You retain ownership of content you submit. By submitting content, you grant MyExamMate a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, reproduce, format, display, and deliver that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing relevant platform features.
15. Privacy & Data Protection
Your use of the platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://myexammate.org/privacy. The Privacy Policy details our data processing practices, AI integrations, cookie policies, and security safeguards.
16. Third-Party Services
MyExamMate integrates third-party services including Google OAuth/Gemini, Cloudinary, ModemPay, Vercel, and email providers. MyExamMate is not responsible for the independent performance, privacy practices, or downtime of third-party infrastructure.
17. Donations and Merchandise
Transactions for donations or merchandise are processed through secure payment gateways (e.g., ModemPay). Users are responsible for providing accurate billing and shipping information. Additional order, cancellation, and refund terms may apply during checkout.
18. Platform Availability
MyExamMate is delivered over internet infrastructure. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operations. Platform features may be updated, suspended, or modified for maintenance, security, or feature enhancements.
19. No Guarantee of Academic Outcomes
MyExamMate is a study organization utility. Use of MyExamMate does not guarantee passing grades, specific GPA achievements, admission, graduation, or employment. Educational results depend on personal academic performance.
20. Disclaimers
MyExamMate is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
21. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MyExamMate and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to platform use. This includes losses associated with missed exams, schedule changes, reliance on AI outputs, or service outages.
22. Account Suspension & Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or compromise security. Users may discontinue platform use at any time. Account deactivation does not immediately purge records retained for legal, audit, or operational requirements.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as services or legal obligations evolve. Updated Terms will be published with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of MyExamMate following published revisions constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
24. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable to the operating structure of MyExamMate, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding shall be brought before competent courts of the operating jurisdiction.
25. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms, alongside the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MyExamMate regarding platform usage.
